Who's who?

So who is who? Actually the kids don't look alike enough to get them confused, but they do have some similarities (other than the sleeper!). Right now it looks like Ellie will have blue eyes and darker hair, while Micah has brown eyes and blond hair. But Ellie still may change eye color and hair color. I'm hoping she keeps the blue eyes, but we'll see. Speaking of Ellie, she's fussing and I've got to run! P.S. The top one is Micah and the bottom one is Ellie

Micah arrested?

Micah had an exciting Saturday last week. He spent a few minutes visiting grandpa and taking a look at his cool police car. As you can see, he even got to sit in the back. Saturday evening as Micah was praying he thanked God for Grandpa's car and the lights and the siren. It was all he could talk about for several days. He now has pictures of the visit hanging in his room. A very memorable experience! AJ and I hope and pray that this is the only time he will ever sit in the back of a police car!!

Micah and Ellie Dressed up

Here are the kiddos all dressed up! We decided that we needed to get some pictures of Micah out here. He is a great big brother and loves baby Ellie a little too much sometimes. He is getting better about asking before he touches her and can be quite gentle with her. He did bite her finger the other day and she protested with a loud cry. He has not quite learned the art of lying (thankfully) and when asked what happened he said, "I bit her". No damage was done and I'm sure there will be many more incidents to come!

Ellie had her 2 week check-up today and she is doing great! She is up to 7lbs 4oz, so we are thrilled that she is eating well and was declared healthy. We are truly grateful for her health and praise the Lord that we all have transitioned quite well to having her here.

That's about all for now. The plumber will be here shortly. Yesterday while doing laundry we had water back up in the basement. After cleaning it up twice, I had to stop doing laundry. Hopefully the plumber will be able to fix it quickly and we can all have clean clothes again!

Welcome Elliana Grace

ELLIANA GRACE KING

Little Elliana Grace joined us at 8:27 AM Tuesday October 24th. She weighed 7.1 lbs and was 20 3/4 inches long. I am trying to get pictures but bloger.com is having server issues. I will try again tomorrow.

Here are a couple of details and funny stories of the day. We got to the hospital at 6:00 AM. We went right to our room and they got us moving and got Amy ready for the c-section. Our delivery nurse walked in and introduced herself. I knew she looked familiar but it took a second to figure out from where... She was the same nurse that delivered Micah. Amy and I were both very excited to see her because she was great and made our first experience there great.

The hospital assigns a "Daddy Sitter" for the fathers of a c-section baby... just in case they oh lets say faint. I would not know anything about that oh wait, maybe I do, I think my memory of that part is a little blurry. All I know, is about half way through the c-section, the room got REALLY REALLY hot and it started to spin. I know that it was not me so I asked if anyone else thought it was hot. The nurse grabbed my camera and told me to put my head between my knees. When I asked for water one of the doctors got me a syringe filled with water... it was the best he could find. To add insult to injury they gave me the oxygen that Amy was using and the nurse that took my camera started to laugh and say "oh we HAVE to have a picture of this"

Micah is doing well with the changes... So far. He came to the hospital twice on Tuesday when Ellie was born. Every time someone came into the room he would say "Do you want to see my baby?" When the pediatrician came in he was not happy with her. He was not sure what they were doing to "his baby" so he watched very closely. He loves his sister and says her name a lot. He has to ask mom or dad if he can touch her and then he gives her a kiss or he pets her head. So far so good. Oh yah and Cooper, or dumb dog as I call him, likes her to.

P.S. for my co-workers at Select Comfort. Our nurse wore pink CROCS!

Accident or Mauling?

Accident or Mauling?

This morning was just like every other Tuesday morning... until I drove out of my drive way. As I drove away from my house I looked down the street I live on and noticed a woman laying on the ground in front of a car that was stopped in the middle of the road. I stopped the car turned it around and called 911 as I drove closer I was telling the 911 dispatcher that I was arriving on the scene of an accident. In the middle of saying this I realized that this was not an accident it was a Rottweiler attacking a black lab. A woman was walking her Lab and this Rottweiler got out and started to attack them. The woman was curled up the ground in the fetus position, holding the leash, and the two dogs were fighting. There was a woman honking and yelling at the dogs. I got off the phone with the police stepped out of the car and started to yell shoe the dog off. A FedEx driver pulled up and all three of us were yelling and honking. Just then the a police officer pulled up and whipped out his taser gun. He was yelling for the dog to get off and aiming for him with the taser. Just then the owner of the Rottweiler came running out saying don't shoot that's my dog. The officer also had drawn his pistol and was aiming both at the attacking dog. The cop said "control your dog or I will"... and before he could finish his statement he shot the taser at the dog. Now for those of you who have never seen anyone, much less, a dog get tased. Let me me share with you what happens. That dog stopped right in the middle of a bark jumped up in the air landed on his back feet in the air like rigor mortis had set in crying and peeing on himself for about 15-20 seconds. He actually got up and started to head back and fight some more. Dogs really aren't that smart are they? The dog wised up and turned for home. I suppose that shaking on the ground while having one hundred thousand some odd volts running through you while you pee yourself isn't all that appealing even for a dumb dog. Oh ya and the woman who was on the ground did not even have a scratch on her and she was just fine. It turns out that she is a dog trainer and she really wasn't upset by the whole thing because... well... they were "just two alpha males trying to establish dominance" Crazy lady.

Changes

CHANGES
Life as we know it is about to change... On October 24th Amy will give birth to our second child. For those of you who do not know we are having a girl... Yes we know the name, but we are not sharing it until the baby is born. We have had a busy Summer. It started with a late Spring golf trip to Brainerd, MN for AJ. Then we went to Chicago in June for Amy's cousins wedding. July AJ went with some friends to the East coast to visit 3 baseball stadiums (RFK, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Citizen Bank Park in Philly). August we went to California for a wedding of a good friend of AJ's from grade school (because of AJ's new found addiction of visiting baseball stadiums we saw the SF Giants play at AT&T park). Finally in September we went to Banff Canada for an incentive trip care of Select Comfort. Now life settles down a bit. As of October 20th Amy is going to be finished working. She will stay home with the little ones and enjoy being a full time mom.

This is a picture of the Bow Valley Falls in Banff. If you have not visited Banff you should plan a trip... it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

First Post

FIRST POST!

So this is our first post... WEEEEE. This is a picture of Amy and I on our trip to Banff Canada.
